DotA is one of those games that are constantly evolving. It has started as a humble project, but over the years it has grown into one of the most popular games of today.
DotA has been updated many times over the past few years, but none of those updates come close to the latest 7.0 version of the game.
One of the biggest additions is the new hero – Monkey King. He is a melee carry hero who aims to disable enemies and escape quickly when it’s needed. The design of the new hero is amazing. He looks like he belongs in the DotA universe, and we are sure that many players are already having fun playing him.
The in-game interface has been rebuilt. This means that you will be more efficient in controlling your hero, and it also means that you won’t miss the action happening on theDotAscreen. The goal of the new interface is to increase visibility without sacrificing the information provided to the player.
Players can resize the minimap, easily check the status of their teammates, check mana cost on items, customize the hero interface, and a lot more!
Pregame has been vastly improved. We think that this is one of the most important changes to the game because now you can use hero filters to locate a specific hero quickly, but that’s not all! Before the game starts, you can use the strategy map which helps with planning. You can plan your lanes and ward spots, change your hero loadout, purchase starting items, and more.
The biggest changes have been made to the talent tree. Every hero has gained new Hero Talents which become unlockable at levels 10/15/20/25. These new talents offer you the chance to enhance your hero with powerful augmentations which increase the hero’s capabilities. Each of the four levels mentioned offers a choice between different talents.
Ultimate levels have been changed as well. New update lets you work on your ultimate ability on 6th, 12th, and 18th level. Respawn timetable has been updated, and the XP system has been reworked. Death cost has been reworked, and hero kill XP table has received an update. Slardar, Enigma, and Viper have been remodeled. We have to say that we like the new look of those three heroes.
All in all, this is a massive update, and the dust needs to settle before we can say whether we think the changes are good or not. We are sure that DotA 2 will remain one of the most popular video games. And the 7.0 update will surely breathe some new life into the game.
What do you think of the 7.0 update? Do you like the changes or do you hate them? Let us know!
