Synchronization Window

The Synchronization Window is used to change the timings of the slides and the audio. It is usually used after importing audio from an external file so that the slides can be synced with the audio. After importing audio, frequently the audio is all stored in the first slide.

The Synchronization Window can also be used to delete segments of the audio file.

Slide Tray

This holds all of the summary information for the presentation and the audio. It shows a preview of the slide plus the In and Out times for the slides.

Slide Preview

This is the preview of the slide.

Slide Times

This shows the In and Out times for the slide. The top number shows when in the audio a slide begins to display, and the bottom number shows when the slide stops displaying. The time is measured in seconds, and the fraction is measured in 1/600 of a second.

If a section of the audio is not assigned to a slide, that portion of the audio will be deleted when exiting the Synchronization Window. This is useful when there is some dead time or some segment of audio that needs removing. (This is often the case when audio is imported from an external file.) For example, if there is 30 seconds of lead time before the talking begins on the first slide, the In time for the first slide can be set to [00:00:30.000] and the Out time can be set to when the talking stops for that slide. When these slide timings are saved, the first 30 seconds of audio will be removed from slide 1.

Editing the Slide Times

Clear

This will clear all of the slide timings for the whole presentation. This is useful after importing audio from an external file and all of the audio has been assigned to the first slide.

If all the times are cleared and the slide timings are saved by pressing "OK" before assigning new In and Out times, all of the audio will be deleted.

Always Overwrite

This option is found in the Edit menu. When this is checked you will not be asked to confirm if you want to alter a previously created In or Out time.

Always Delete

This option is found in the Edit menu. When this is checked you will not be asked to confirm if you want to delete a previously created In or Out time.

Cancel

This will close the Synchronization Window without saving the changes to the slide times and the audio.

OK

When this button is clicked all of the slide timings will be saved and the audio file will modified to reflect those changes. If some segments of the audio file were not assigned to the slides, those portions of the audio will be deleted.
